About Us
Green School Runs
Green School Runs is a UK-registered charity (No. 1189167) founded in 2017 by parents in North London.
We're driven by growing concerns about air pollution caused by traffic, especially during the school run, and by a strong desire to create a healthier urban environment where every child can walk, scoot or cycle to school safely and confidently.
To achieve its goals, Green School Runs works with local schools, families, and authorities to put practical, data driven and results-focused solutions in place, helping to reduce traffic and improve air quality for everyone in our community and beyond.
Our current projects include:
-
promoting active school travel options, like walking or cycling buses
-
reducing traffic around schools, through park and stride and healthy school streets initiatives
-
engaging with schools, to raise awareness of air pollution and promote active school transport initiatives
-
engaging with other groups and authorities working in the space of air pollution and transport to promote more environmentally responsible travel choices
Our Vision
Clean air for everyone in cities where citizens can walk, cycle or use public transport easily and safely.
Our Mission
-
To provide realistic alternatives to driving, particularly during the school run.
-
To increase awareness of the effects and causes of air polution.
-
To improve the health of citizens through the reduction of air polution.
